Southern Comfort - Good Times Good Times

Annual trip to the infamous trucker bar Southern Comfort for Siobhan and Petrika's birthdays this past weekend.
On the way there, saw this amazing sight:

Look closely. There's a whole lot going on on there.

Also, some more pictures from the night below. I wasn't feeling brave or drunk enough I guess to take the REALLY interesting pictures, but I assure you, there were some old old ladies in some horrible Betty Boop t-shirts all over the place!

Le Sexoflex on V Day

We had a really great Valentine's Day - Josh made this yummy pad thai with Asian french fries and Godiva brownies, and it was soooo good. We both ate too much, and then went to see Le Sexoflex perform at the 10 High. They used the image Josh shot of them at the ever-classy Cheshire Motor Inn to promote the show, and it even inspired a new song about the douche bag from Brooklyn that kept trying to direct the shoot even though no one knew who he was:

Baby Time

Had Melissa, Allen, and Dominic over for dinner the other night. This is the closest we get to having a baby.

Philly pride

For all you Philly people out there, have you heard about UWISHUNU? It's a cool blog about Philly and under-the-radar spots. Check it out! I was particularly excited about "The Chocolate Lab" (*Note - Mom and Dad, you should take me here next time I come home!) and the spaghetti serenade. Ugh, why does all joy in my life revolve around food??

Semi Good

One of the perks of working in the TV industry is that a lot of people have a lot of connections in the movie industry. Which means a lot of free movie screenings. Which I love! This morning a few of us got to see Semi Pro. Which was okay. First half was so-so, but, similar to the Super Bowl, the ending was where all the action really was.
Here's a picture of Tom and Owen enjoying the popcorn they convinced some guy to make and put in Ziploc bags for them since the concession stand isn't open at 10am on a Thursday.

Yes We Can

Saw this video this morning and am so moved by it. One, because it's beautiful, and two, because I thought finally - FINALLY - someone in the campaigning world besides MTV (which I'm really sick of getting it right almost all the time in hitting their demo dead-on) figured it out. How to do something different to get out a message and make an impact and do it gorgeously.

But then I investigated a little further and realized that Obama and the campaign and his people had nothing to do with this production (inspiration and words aside....). will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas created this video with his own resources. And even more touching to me are his comments on why he made this:
